Information Center
Effective communication between the POA and its membership is essential. Such communication acts to dispel rumors, clear up misinformation, and gain support for community initiatives.
An organized communications process can also serve to alert members to issues regarding health and welfare and to inform all residents about upcoming community events and activities. The BSLPOA has initiated the following methods to provide information to the membership.
Community Information Network (CIN)
CIN is an e-mail based system designed to promptly provide important information to Association members and community residents. Each CIN message takes one of three formats:
- Alerts Urgent information related to issues such as boil water notices, public safety advisories, or any situation requiring community-wide attention.
- Notifications Important, but less urgent information regarding community meetings, plans or projects, especially those pertaining to actions taken by the Association's Board of Directors or staff.
- Grapevines Information about activities fostering neighborhood unity.
The POA office staff maintains a protected list of email addresses to which CIN messages are sent. To keep this list accurate as possible, please inform the office of any change in your contact information
Newsletter Twice a year, (May and November) the BSLPOA publishes an informative newsletter reporting on matters of interest to members of the Association. Included in this publication are columns prepared by each director describing recent developments in his or her area of responsibility. The November edition is of particular interest since it reports on the outcome of the Annual Meeting in October, including the budget and election of directors. The Newsletter is mailed to each property owner and is also posted on this website.
Resident Directory Each year, the BSLPOA distributes a Resident Directory containing the name, street address, phone number, and email address of Association members who approve the publication of such identifying information. This booklet is produced at no cost to the POA - it's published by a private vendor that provides ad space to local businesspeople. The Directory contains a caution stating it is not to be used for business solicitation. Copies of the Directory are available at the POA office.
