The mission of the Burnt Store Lakes Community Emergency Response Team is to serve and safeguard our community through efficient volunteer service, which helps protect line and property.  The BSL CERT is a local team trained and ready to provide post-disaster emergency response services to the Burnt Store Lakes community, including overall assessment of the diaster, light search and rescue activities, basic first aid, and triage as necessary.  The Team will provide the above services, and other diaster-related activities as adopted by the team, in advance of the arrival of any First Responders, or under the direction of the First Responders after their arrival.  "The greatest good, for the greatest number."

What is CERT?

The CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
